Bursting onto the World Stage: Quintana Roo’s 2025 Year in Review

With 2025 in the rear view, let’s look back at what made it a special year for Quintana Roo. From record-breaking times on the V-PRi to stellar showings at races around the globe to increasing our presence and support at events throughout Europe, QR had a LOT going on. Let’s relive some of the highlights that made this year such a success!

Kristian Høgenhaug’s Record Frankfurt Ride

We would be remiss if we didn’t kick off our 2025 retrospective with one of our year’s biggest highlights: the new IRONMAN bike split world record, courtesy of Denmark’s Kristian Høgenhaug.

Kristian Hogenhaug Challenge Championship win on the podium

In his first year with Quintana Roo, Høgenhaug showed why he’s not just one of the strongest cyclists, but one of the strongest triathletes in the world. He kicked things off with a victory at the Challenge Championship in Samorin, Slovakia—not bad.

In his campaign for a high placing in the season-long IRONMAN Pro Series, he went to IRONMAN Frankfurt and blazed a path to the front of the race on the bike, notching a 3:52:10 bike split over 180 kilometers/112 miles—the fastest IRONMAN bike split ever. It would carry him to a second-place finish in Frankfurt, points that helped him to place third overall in the IRONMAN Pro Series by year’s end. If anything proves the V-PRi is fast, it’s this result and this banner 2025 season by this man. Well done, Kristian!

Maintenance Matters: Tips for Keeping Your Triathlon Bike in Top Condition

For years, Quintana Roo’s signature (at least in North America) has always been in its support. Nobody understands multisport athletes like us, and that’s why we’re there for you at your biggest races with mechanical support and technical engagement. But as a global brand shipping direct to consumers all across the globe, we knew we needed to be at some of the biggest races in Europe, too.

So we packed our tools and headed to Europe in 2025. Our presence across the pond is on a level that has never been before. In 2025, athletes found us at IRONMAN Frankfurt, Challenge Roth, IRONMAN Hamburg, Challenge Championship, and more. Anyone on a QR received the complimentary pre-race services and support that have made us legendary. Countless athletes got to meet our team of experts and try out demo gear to experience how our bikes and wetsuits can make them faster.

This year, you can expect to see us at several key races in Europe and North America again. And of course, you can expect to see us supporting all QR athletes at the IRONMAN World Championships in Kona. At any race, we look forward to seeing you and wishing you good luck, viel glück, or vela stastia in your race.

Quintana Roo Factory Team Goes Global

Meet the 2025 Quintana Roo Factory Team

Last year saw the debut of the Quintana Roo Factory Team, a global collective of professional triathletes on their way to the top. Our Factory Team of 15 men and women hit races around the world, stacking victories along the way. We scored wins at the Obernai and Ingolstadt Triathlons in Germany with Jana Uderstadt, achieved the fastest bike split and second overall at IRONMAN Brazil from Irishwoman Fiona Moriarity, and nabbed IRONMAN World Championship Qualifications for the above-mentioned athletes, as well as for the man they call The People’s Champ, Fijian Benjamin Zorgnotti.

In 2026, we're adding quite a few names to the squad—more news to come there in the coming months. From team benefits to engagement at races around the world, we were pumped to support the journey for so many professionals as they put in the work and chased their triathlon dreams. We expect future champions to come from the QR Factory Team.

Fond Farewells…

Haley Chura and Jodie Robertson

2025 saw two longtime powerhouse pros retire at the top of their game: Americans Haley Chura and Jodie Robertson. One of the sport’s most respected swimmers, Chura went out with a bang, earning the fastest swim split at the 2025 Hawaii IRONMAN World Championship on her way to a 20th-place finish. Robertson put together an amazing one-two, with a runner-up finish (and the day’s fastest bike split) at IRONMAN Chattanooga, with her final race taking place in Kona as well. If you’re gonna retire, Kona’s a great place to do it.

While Jodie returns to inspiring the next generation of triathletes as a youth triathlon coach and teacher in New York, Chura aims to stay active in the sport, as we hope to see her doing some race announcing. If anyone can talk with authority on the tactics of an IRONMAN swim, it’s Chura. We’ll miss both of these amazing athletes and thank them for their time flying aboard Quintana Roo Airlines.

…and Exciting Debuts

Grace Thek

One of our latest additions to our pro ranks is that of Australian Grace Thek. Diminutive in nature, she’s a huge force on the race course. With a second-place result at Challenge Roth in 2025, she is targeting Kona qualification in 2026 with a debut at the IRONMAN World Championships in her crosshairs. We’re excited to be in her corner.

We also have two new marquee signees in 2026—more to come with some announcements in the coming months!

Movin’ on Up: The IRONMAN World Championships Bike Count

Quintana Roo continues to prove a hot ticket among athletes buying bikes for the IRONMAN World Championships. QR again moved up in the men’s race in Nice (5th overall) and women’s race (4th overall).

Festive Finale

Volker Voit festive 500

The year wrapped up for us in late December with an impressive farewell from our former German QR Ambassador (and Instagram cycling magnate) Volker Voit. Wrapping his final ride on the V-PRi in grand style, Volker partook in the Rapha Festive 500 Challenge: 500 kilometers (311 miles) of riding over the eight days from Christmas Eve to New Year's Eve.

Voit added a twist, though. He wasn't going to do it over eight days; he was going to do all 500 km in one ride. On the flat, dry roads in Dubai, UAE, he got it done in classic Volker style: FAST.

The numbers? 501 km in 12 hours, 24 minutes, 16 seconds. Voit averaged 40.4 kph with an average power of 259 watts. He also burned 12,690 calories, which explains his fervent hunt for pizza immediately after the ride. Congrats to Volker for that amazing ride, and a big thanks for flying the V-PRi in style for the last two years.

2026… and Beyond!

Kristian Hogenhaug wins Challenge Championship

What do we have up our sleeve this year? You know we’ll be at all the big races again to help you succeed with that signature QR service and support. In 2026, we are expecting you to be the ones writing the big stories. From Kona qualifications to new PRs at your local sprint race to your first 70.3 or full IRONMAN, every challenge you meet is a victory for us, and we're ready to be there to cheer you on. Bring it, 2026, we’re ready!
