AMERICAN BICYCLE GROUP EARNS 2023 ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT AWARD FOR ECO-SUSTAINABILITY
Chattanooga, Tenn. - April 23, 2024 - American Bicycle Group (ABG) proudly announces being named recipient of the 2023 Environmental Impact Award, bestowed by industry materials supplier Pratt Industries. This commendation underscores ABG's steadfast commitment to eco-sustainability through its utilization of Pratt Industries' 100 percent recycled paper, in the form of its fully recycled cardboard boxes, used to deliver its bicycles directly to customers throughout 2023.
Pratt Industries, a leader in sustainable packaging solutions, calculated the profound global impact of ABG's adoption of recycled paper, revealing impressive figures: approximately 408 trees saved, 168,000 gallons of water conserved, 24 tons of carbon dioxide prevented, and 96,000 kilowatt hours of power saved.
Chattanooga, once notorious as the most polluted city in the nation in the late 1960s, has undergone a remarkable transformation, propelled by initiatives championed by forward-thinking corporations like American Bicycle Group. ABG's dedication to clean corporate operations not only contributes to global sustainability efforts but also serves as a beacon of hope for its local community. A key element toward that end comes with ABG’s use of fully recycled cardboard boxes to ship fully-assembled bicycles from among its three bicycle brands of Litespeed Titanium road, gravel and mountain bikes, OBED gravel and all-road bikes and Quintana Roo triathlon bikes, direct to customers. Upon receipt of their bikes, customers are encouraged to either retain their shipment box for further use, or to recycle it.
