We're extremely proud of Quintana Roo Professional Triathlete, Matt Hanson, who won IRONMAN Texas North American Championship in record time of 07:39:24!
After finding himself three and a half minutes behind the swim leaders, Matt rode a very smart and efficient bike split aboard his new PRsix Disc. This allowed him to come off the bike in a great position with other strong marathon runners and secure his third North American Championship win in Texas by posting a marathon time of 2:34:39.

Our newest PRseries model, the PRsix Disc, features thru-axle disc-brake technology giving riders superior stopping power and the control to stop safely in any condition.
Overall aerodynamics and weight of the bike are largely unchanged while the thru-axle design increases lateral stiffness of the bike - increasing power-to-pedal transfer - especially on out of the saddle efforts. The very small weight penalty and overall change in aerodynamics (if any) is largely outweighed by the safety of disc-brake technology, increased lateral stiffness, and reduced wear and rotational weight of carbon or alloy wheelsets.

"I have been really happy with the upgrade to the PRsix Disc. First and foremost, it gives me an added level confidence in braking in all conditions. Riding the fastest wheels in wet conditions used to require me to brake early because you didn’t know how long it would take for the bike to actually start to slow down - definitely not the case with the disc brakes. This also allows me to carry more speed into corners and brake later than I would with standard brakes. I am still learning how to use this as efficiently as possible, but it has already made a difference.
I am also impressed with how easy it is to swap between training and race wheels. The brakes are easily adjusted when necessary. QR did a great job with this design by increasing function without sacrificing aerodynamics."
