It was another successful trip to Kailua-Kona, Hawaii for the IRONMAN World Championship – the biggest stage in triathlon. We witnessed hundreds of amazing athletes cross the finish line, met and supported members of our QR family and showcased our newly released, top-of-the-line products at the IRONMAN Village.

Quintana Roo professional triathlete Joe Skipper took 6th place at this year’s IRONMAN World Championship in Kona – and even with a flat on the bike, Skipper managed to get the 3rd fastest bike split.
“My bike was great. I managed to ride a 4:16 bike split despite a puncture with 5 miles remaining on the bike leg, which was within a minute of what I managed last year in tougher conditions,” Skipper said. “I got off the bike in 11th place, putting me on the back foot starting the run. I was able to execute a pretty solid run and ended up with 6th place.
This was my best result in Kona, but I can already see ways I can improve for next year. I’ll be working hard this year so that I can get myself onto the podium at next year’s World Championship!”
Every year, the Quintana Roo team sets up at the IRONMAN World Championship bike check-in showcase to celebrate our athletes, introduce them to QR’s CEO and give them exclusive athlete swag. Industry professionals sit alongside to count the number of products they have represented on race day – this year, the QR bike count grew 26% compared to last year.
Just like our athletes, we continue to push boundaries and strive to be the best. We’re proud of our small team for producing quality, high-performance bikes that compete with other companies in the industry.
The QR family continues to grow and we’re excited to see where we can go from here.
