IRACELIKEAGIRL: SUPPORTING WOMEN FOR TRI

At QR, we are thrilled to announce the addition of Angela Naeth to our roster of Quintana Roo professional triathletes. We're also very excited to continue our support of women in triathlon by partnering with women-based triathlon community, IRACELIKEAGIRL, founded by Naeth in 2017.
About Angela
Growing up in British Columbia, Canada, Angela began the sport in 2008. She is now a multiple IM 70.3 and IRONMAN Champion, 36-time IM 70.3 podium finisher, IRONMAN 2014 Chattanooga Champion and the 2015 North American IRONMAN Champion, with an under 9-hour performance.
In 2018, Naeth overcame Lyme disease and placed 8th at the IRONMAN World Championships with a time of 8 hrs 57 mins. She is currently ranked among the top triathletes in the world with three sub-nine-hour IRONMAN performances, and more than 30 podiums at the IM 70.3 and IRONMAN distances.
iracelikeagirl and supporting the tri community
Understanding the need to give back and help grow the sport, Angela created a global women’s endurance sports community in 2017, iracelikeagirl. The all-female group provides opportunities for girls and women of all ages and abilities to support, encourage and inspire one another in the sports of triathlon, cycling, running and swimming
“After many conversations with Peter and with people in the industry about the value and benefits of the PRsix Disc, I knew the opportunity to join the QR team was a great fit,” said Naeth. “I loved that I always saw Peter and the QR crew at many races supporting their pros, as well as the entire triathlon community, with tune-ups and support.
“I also knew I wanted to be on a great bike and to be able to work with the owner of the company that built them. Relationships are key for me, and this will be a great relationship, not only for me, but also for iracelikeagirl.”
iracelikeagirl team training camp
The first iracelikeagirl triathlon training camp was a huge success! Team members had a great 4 days in Clermont, FL where they rode, swam, ran, did yoga, and meditation daily.
Angela presented on: nutrition, mindset and racing, bike fit, indoor riding, how to build your year, strength and lifting protocols, and went over technique in swim/bike and run. There were under water videos for the athletes to evaluate their swim form. On the bike, athletes worked on how to ride up hills and descend efficiently on a bike. Run drills were a new experience for some to help with form and stability.
"It was one of the best weekends to date. I'm already looking at doing another camp this summer in Boulder, CO.", said Angela. "I started iracelikeagirl with an idea on paper at a Red Bull camp a few years ago. To now have this team global, with events and 200+ members, I'm excited to see it grow and continue foster relationships with women and sport."
