From kayaking to triathlon, Denmark's Katrine Christensen's journey is a scintillating one. A former member of the Danish National Sprint Kayak Team, Katrine has successfully transformed her aerobic engine from paddling to the rigors of distance triathlon, finding fast success against top fields around the world.

Racing at the top of the game, showing no signs of slowing, she works as a civil engineer in biomedical technology with a focus on the science of sleep and recovery—an aspect of training key to every triathlete's ability to perform.

Her most rewarding job? Mother, to her daughter Nora.

What to watch for in 2026

If history is any indication, we're likely to see Katrine take the crown as Queen of Kalmar this summer in Sweden, a race she she calls the most beautiful in the world.
