The Olympics take place in Los Angeles in 2028, and in Brisbane, Australia in 2032. And in LA, the Games kick off with the sport we love: triathlon.

But getting there? Being one of the few to make the start in something that is a dream for many triathletes? It starts with work in La Paz, Mexico. Or Vina del Mar, Chile, or Haikou, China. World Cups, America's Cups, these are the fires in which athletes like Blake Bullard are forged. Gaining speed. Technical skills. Endurance.

A former top cross-country and track talent in Texas who was double-dipping with wins at state junior elite triathlon races, Bullard is one of a handful of athletes identified to be part of USA Triathlon's Project Podiumc, charged with stewarding the next generation of American Olympians toward medals at the Olympics.

While he's making waves on the World Triathlon circuit and becoming a familiar podium regular at Cup races around the world, he has an eye to a future on the IRONMAN 70.3 circuit and eventually, the IRONMAN pro circuit.
