You're Faster on a Bike That Fits: The V-PRi is Available in More Sizes

Standing at 5’0 (153cm) tall, Grace Thek is one of the shorter athletes in the pro triathlon world. But that has never stopped her from chasing big results. When she joined the Quintana Roo team, she wanted to maximize her performance by riding our flagship V-PRi. With class-leading aerodynamics, integrated hydration and nutrition storage, record-breaking race results, and accolades like Triathlete’s Bike of the year, it’s one of the fastest bikes in the world for serious athletes.

Høgenhaug discovered more speed on a larger frame size than usual.

From its inception, the V-PRi was designed with enough adjustment range to fit the widest possible range of athletes. The size small, for example, is ideal for athletes 5’1-5’6 (155-168cm), but it was built with a seatpost and cockpit that easily and comfortably accommodate athletes 5’0-5’8 (152-173cm). Ultimately, adjustability is the key to speed. I’m 5’8, but find I perform best on a size small rather than a medium. Our star male athlete, Kristian Høgenhaug, is between a medium and large, and thanks to the V-PRi’s adjustability, found his fastest, record-breaking position on the large size frame.

The V-PRi’s extremely large fit windows and ample adjustment are what allowed Thek to get immediately comfortable on her new V-PRi to compete at Wollongong T100, where she scored a maiden top 10 on her bike with a 9th place finish. She followed that up with a top 20, finishing 17th at the IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship in Marbella. We’re excited to see more from our smallest athlete, but to help her and other athletes at the ends of the size spectrum maximize their performance, we have worked hard to bring our flagship V-PRi out in two additional sizes: X-small and X-large.

Tri Bikes Engineered to Fit Athletes of All Sizes

Our earliest bikes were made to optimize fit for smaller athletes like Liz Downing.

Bike fit is a struggle for athletes of any height, and especially so for those at the ends of the height spectrum. In our earliest days, the Quintana Roo made bikes designed to fit the unique proportions of specific athletes. Proper fit has always been one of the core tenets of our designs. Our bikes are built to allow for more comfortable, sustainable, and aerodynamic riding positions. Combining this with aerodynamic frame designs developed in the A2 Wind Tunnel has led to multiple top-level wins and championships.

Thek and DeVaney dialing in her IIC.

When designing the new, even more aerodynamic V-PRi, our lead engineer, Brad DeVaney, sought solutions to make fitting this bike feel as universal, easy, and comfortable as possible. This led to the V-PRi’s new Intelligent Integration Cockpit (IIC), which uses a simple mono-riser design with a basebar that is cleanly integrated into the frame. Not only is this cockpit cleaner, more aerodynamic, and easier to travel with, but it also offers nearly unlimited width and fore-aft adjustment of the extensions. It also makes stack height adjustment extremely fast and easy.

Making these cockpit adjustments quick and easy for any athlete is key. It allows riders to find the ideal arm position on nearly any frame size, no matter their height. It also makes it easier for athletes who have done a professional bike fit to transfer their existing fit measurements to a new V-PRi. In fact, we provide some of the most extensive fit guides in the industry within the V-PRi’s tech FAQs and documentation, which make it easy to replicate any existing bike setup.

New X-Small & X-Large V-PRi Sizes

While athletes like Grace Thek have been able to find a fast fit on the existing sizes of the V-PRi, thanks to the Intelligent Integration Cockpit (IIC) and huge seatpost adjustment range, we wanted to pursue even further optimization.

Additional V-PRi sizes have been in the works for a couple of years. For 2026, our fastest, most technologically advanced bike will finally be available in additional X-small and X-large sizes, accommodating a wider range of athletes from 4’11-6’6 (150-198cm). These new sizes are currently available for pre-order, with X-larges slated for late March delivery, and X-smalls for late April delivery.

If you’ve been waiting for a V-PRi built just for you, we recommend contacting Quintana Roo’s dedicated customer support team via chat or email for a fit consult. Our team is full of triathlon geeks with intimate knowledge of our bikes and years of experience helping athletes find their fastest fit, so they can help you dial in your bike too!
