You first saw Allan Hovda's Stealth PRsix Disc in one of our recent blog posts, PRsix Disc Superbike Build by Allan Hovda. Since then, Allan has spent some time in the wind tunnel and has continued to work on his bike to make it as aerodynamic as possible.

Article Written By Herbert Krabel, Slowtwitch.com

Allan Hovda is a 3-time Norseman champion but he is not content to sit on his laurels. He has worked feverishly over the winter on his new QR PRsix Disc to make it as wind slippery as possible, and of course he is looking to make himself the smallest target for the wind. And despite reaching a 0.182 cDA (without the Roval disc), he knows that there is still room for improvement.

The 32-year old Norwegian is 180cm tall and weighs 68kg, and his Quintana Roo PRsix is a size 52cm. We now will look closer at this trick setup, with SRAM Red eTap components, a Morf TriFold bar, a Specialized Roval tubeless disc, ENVE SES tubeless 7.8 front wheel and various other nice choices.

The black on black Quintana Roo PRsix Disc looks very mean and fast just sitting in place here. The saddle to pad drop for Hovda on this 52cm PRsix is 14.5 cm.

When the Morf TriFold bars* are folded in, this is what the wind sees.

The same setup again as seen from above. And the switching from one to the other position is very fluid.

The QR PRsix is gaining in popularity as a fast frame that is easy to deal with. All water bottle cages on the bike are by the US brand XLab. The front ENVE SES 7.8 tubeless wheel is laced with a a 25mm Schwalbe Pro One tubeless tire.

Allan Hovda rides on 170m Praxis Zayante carbon cranks with 53/39 Praxis Cold Forged X-Rings. The chain is treated with a CeramicSpeed lube and the pedals are Assioma Duo Power.

Hovda rides a Specialized Sitero saddle. Initially he used a King cage behind it, but he feels the XLab Gorilla cage does a better job keeping the bottle in place.

The best CdA number of .182 was in full setup with this Kask Mistral helmet, but that was only slightly better than the Louis Garneau helmet he owns, and without the rear Roval disc wheel that had not yet arrived. The suit pictured is a Bioracer Speedwear Concept trisuit, but he will get a custom one soon. The LG TR-400 shoes will also likely soon be replaced.

*Morf Technology founder Frank Springett sadly died recently in a bike collision with a school bus. Details as to fault are however not known.
