AERODYNAMICS

Winning Design

To maximize aerodynamic performance, the X-PR uses the same mold as the V-PR, one of the most well-reviewed triathlon bikes of all time. The X-PR’s custom carbon layup is more budget-friendly than the V-PR, so it adds a couple hundred grams while still achieving our most audacious weight and stiffness targets. As a result, the X-PR is still one of the lightest and most comfortable triathlon bikes on the market.

Leading Edge Absent 2 (LEA2)

A Quintana Roo secret weapon, the Leading Edge Absent (LEA2) non-drive chain stay smooths airflow for improved aerodynamic performance and greater stability. With no leading edge and a large smooth surface, there is less disruption and air stays attached to the frame longer, reducing turbulence and drag over traditional frame designs.

Shift Downtube

A signature element of Quintana Roo's advanced aerodynamic design, the Shift Downtube is asymmetric and designed to literally shift airflow away from the less efficient drive side of the bike, and redirect it toward the “clean” non-drive side of the frame with the Leading Edge Absent chain stay. This aerodynamic advantage also keeps more airflow smoothly attached to the frame by reducing disruption of the seat tube.

Get power data from your X-PR by adding the 4iii Precision Gen3 single-leg power meter.

Get all the watts savings! Choose the CeramicSpeed (bottom bracket, OSPW rear derailleur, chain, and wheel bearing) upgrade, available on select build options.
