It has come to our attention that the Profile Design Aeria Ultimate Carbon bar system is in the process of being recalled by the manufacturer (Profile Design). We wanted to reach out proactively to our Quintana Roo athlete base to make them aware and inform them of the solutions.

It is our understanding that Profile has seen several cases of these specific base bars being more susceptible to breaking especially after normal foreseen minor impacts in transport, shipping and the like.

To our understanding, the affected bar is a 1st generation Aeria Ultimate cockpit supplied to manufacturers and retailers between mid-2017 and late-2018. We have further been informed that while there are differences in measurement between the affected 1st generation bars and the approved 2nd generation that the markings remained the same – thus making it very difficult to positively identify which generation bar our athletes have by visual inspection.

Above all else, we value our athletes' safety and the safety of the sport of triathlon of which we are also participants. We are taking the extra step to reach out to anyone in our Quintana Roo family that may be subject to this recall.
