It is hard to believe that it’s been more than 20 years since the development of our first triathlon specific wetsuit in 1987. Surprisingly, no other company in the history of the sport has created a wider variety of wetsuits with more sizes to fit every body style. We have done more product testing this year than ever before, with the help of great athletes across the country, to create the best fitting and functioning suits hitting the water in 2009.
In 2007, Quintana Roo patented the Virtual Pull Buoy (“VPB”) and was the first company to pioneer the use of Yamamoto Type 40 neoprene in wetsuits. This material makes the outside skin of the wetsuits slicker than your own skin, thus creating a low coefficient of drag on the skin of a wetsuit.
Our wetsuits also feature the exclusive Breakaway Zipper. This zipper makes exit from the suit the easiest part of your swim to bike transition. Our design, development and testing continue daily by a group of employees who not only design, but also train and race in the wetsuits we sell.
