Quintana Roo invented the triathlon bike. If you go back to 1987, when Quintana Roo sent Ray Browning to Ironman New Zealand on the first-ever triathlon bike, he was ridiculed for bringing such a strange looking bike with unorthodox geometry to the race. That bike, the Superform, was the first bike ever built specifically for the bike portion of triathlon. As many people remember, he came off of the bike with a 30 minute lead that year and since then the modern tri bike invented by QR has been copied by others many times over.
To this day we remain committed to the principles of this triathlon specific fit, the extension of which has become Slowtwitch.com’s F.I.S.T. system for optimum positioning. We are also committed to providing this position to athletes of all performance levels and budgets. You will find 9 models of triathlon-specific bikes from the Tequilo and Chicquilo all the way to the most talked about bike for 2009, our new Cd 0.1.
We’ve also introduced 2 new models for those that can’t utilize our triathlon specific geometry due to ITU rules or simply don’t want to ride a full triathlon bike all the time – the Split and Split R.
